Dr. Amit Dhingra will share insights into the wide range of horticulture degrees and certificate programs offered at Texas A&M University, including Floral Design. In addition to coursework, students gain valuable hands-on experience through high-impact learning opportunities such as internships and study programs both in the U.S. and abroad. These experiences span vineyards and wineries, tissue culture laboratories, nurseries, ornamental and vegetable production (including urban and hydroponic systems), floral design, retail and event planning, and roles in public gardens, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
Dr. Dhingra is Professor and Head of the Department of Horticultural Sciences at Texas A&M in College Station. He holds BS and MS degrees in Botany and a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Agra in Delhi. His career is dedicated to training the next generation of horticultural leaders and advancing sustainable farming practices that benefit society. Before joining Texas A&M, he founded and served as Chief Science Officer for several companies focused on applying innovative agricultural technologies to improve food production.
