This presentation is focused on the plant and insect friends and foes of the Fort Bend Master Gardener’s Butterfly Demonstration Garden at the Fort Bend Extension Office in the Fairgrounds complex.
Christina Alapat has a Master’s degree in Botany from the University of Mysore, India. She was a lecturer in Botany for eleven years in India.
After moving to the USA in 1981 she studied Cytotechnology, a cancer detection program, at the UT School of Allied Health Sciences in Houston.
After working as a Cytotechnologist at the Cytology Laboratory, she has taught students earning Bachelor’s degrees in Cytotechnology as the Program Director and later Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, for 20 years.
After she retired nine years ago, Christina earned her Master Gardener Certification from Fort Bend County. She has the advanced training in Entomology and has a special interest in butterflies and butterfly gardens.
